Job Title: Architecture Technical Office Engineer

Location: Iraq
Reports to: Project Manager / Technical Manager
Job Type: Full-Time


Job Summary:

The Architecture Technical Office Engineer plays a critical role in bridging the design and execution phases of construction projects. This role involves supporting architectural planning, producing technical documentation, and coordinating with design and site teams to ensure compliance with project specifications, timelines, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in architectural principles, construction processes, and project coordination.

Primary Responsibilities :

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support:
    Provide ongoing technical support throughout the design and construction lifecycle, ensuring architectural designs align with project goals and technical standards.

  • Drawings & Documentation:
    Prepare detailed architectural drawings, including shop drawings, as-built documentation, and material specifications.

  • Project Coordination:
    Collaborate with architects, structural/mechanical/electrical engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure coordinated execution and resolve design-related issues.

  • Site Visits & Monitoring:
    Conduct regular site inspections to verify adherence to architectural plans. Identify and address on-site discrepancies or construction challenges.

  • Cost Estimation & Procurement Support:
    Assist in the preparation of architectural cost estimates and support procurement activities by evaluating material compatibility with design specifications.

  • Compliance:
    Ensure all architectural designs and site executions comply with local building codes, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.

  • Quality Assurance:
    Implement quality control processes to ensure project deliverables meet the required architectural standards and specifications.

  • Problem Solving:
    Identify and resolve technical issues related to design conflicts, material substitutions, or construction methods while maintaining project alignment.

  • Reporting:
    Generate regular progress and technical reports, highlighting risks, challenges, and solutions for senior management or project stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an architectural technical office or similar role.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other architectural design tools.

  • Solid knowledge of architectural design, detailing, and construction practices.

  • Experience preparing and interpreting construction documents and specifications.

  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

  • Excellent communication and coordination capabilities.

  • Knowledge of project management principles is a plus.

  • Previous experience in the Gulf region and Arabic language skills are preferred.


Languages:

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

  • Arabic is an advantage


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools and workflows.

  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet project deadlines.

  • Multilingual capabilities are a plus.
