Position: HVAC Design Engineer L2

Primary Responsibilities :

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Implementation: Design, implement, maintain, and improve mechanical systems, equipment selections, specifications, and related processes for commercial, industrial, and multi-family residential projects.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed technical construction drawings, calculations, and specifications for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with standards, codes, and customer requirements using software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Trane Trace, and Carrier HAP.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure designs conform to applicable codes and standards, including but not limited to NYC Building Code, International Codes, Mechanical Code, Energy Code, NFPA Standards, and ASHRAE Standards.
  • Project Review: Review design concepts, calculations, and drawings for accuracy, code compliance, and alignment with customer requirements.
  • Construction Administration: Review engineering submittals, shop drawings, and oversee construction administration procedures to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Training & Development: Develop training modules, calculation procedures, and other tools to enhance design and execution processes. Train junior engineers to adhere to standards and improve performance.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with clients, project managers, and vendors to ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet all requirements.
  • Cost Estimation: Develop cost estimates and bills of materials based on the design concept.
  • General Skills: Demonstrate self-motivation, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Requirements:

  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in HVAC design, with strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Building Services: Must have experience working in Building Services.
  • International Projects: Experience working on international projects, preferably in the US.
  • Team Management: Previous experience in handling and leading teams.
