Mechanic – Heavy-Duty Trucks & Agricultural Machinery

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Mechanic to manage the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy-duty trucks and agricultural machinery used in field and transport operations. The ideal candidate will ensure all machinery runs safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime by implementing preventive maintenance and timely troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance & Repair
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on:
Trucks, trailers, tractors, harvesters, loaders, and irrigation equipment.
Conduct routine servicing including:
Oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, and cooling system checks.
Rebuild and overhaul:
Engines, transmissions, and driveline components.
Inspect and repair:
Hydraulic pumps, gearboxes, and power take-off (PTO) systems.
2. Preventive Maintenance
Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment.
Maintain accurate maintenance records aligned with company and regulatory standards.
Monitor machine performance and proactively identify potential issues.
3. Workshop & Tools Management
Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop assets in working condition.
Recommend procurement of necessary spare parts, lubricants, and consumables.
Ensure the workshop remains clean, organized, and safe at all times.
4. Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety protocols while handling machinery and tools.
Report hazards or unsafe working conditions immediately.
Ensure work complies with equipment manufacturer guidelines and environmental regulations (e.g., oil disposal, waste management).
Qualifications:
Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Diesel Mechanics, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing:
Heavy-duty trucks and agricultural machinery (e.g., John Deere, Massey Ferguson, CAT, Volvo, Mercedes).
Strong knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.
Ability to read technical manuals and interpret mechanical diagrams.
Preferred Skills:
Problem-solving and troubleshooting under minimal supervision.
Good communication and record-keeping abilities.
Familiarity with digital diagnostic systems and maintenance logs.
