We are currently seeking to fill the position of Mechanical Engineer for our GAS-based power plant project featuring MTU gas engines.
The ideal candidate must have 10 years of GENSET gas engines experience throughout their career and at least 5 years of hands-on experience specifically with MTU or Wartsila gas engines, along with the qualifications outlined in the attached job description.
Please note that this role is based in remote location and will be offered on a bachelor status (family accommodation will not be provided). The salary range is RO 1000 to RO 1100 per month, with the company providing free accommodation, meals, and transportation. Additional benefits include free medical coverage, one month of paid leave annually, and return air tickets.
This position will be responsible for Gas engine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks, leading a team of 25, and will report directly to the site manager.

Mechanical Engineer role will cover routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and long-term
improvements of mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Maintenance and Repair
* Schedule and oversee regular maintenance and inspections to ensure the gas engines and
associated mechanical systems are operating at peak efficiency.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs.
* Coordinate with the procurement department to ensure the availability of required spare
parts.
2.Operations Support
* Provide technical support to the operations team, ensuring that the plant meets its power
generation targets.
* Implement operational strategies to minimize downtime and maximize power output.
3.Performance Monitoring
* Monitor and analyze system performance and efficiency, identifying areas for improvement.
* Implement best practices in maintenance and operations to improve reliability and
efficiency.
4.Safety and Compliance
* Ensure all maintenance and operational activities are conducted in compliance with safety
standards and environmental regulations.
* Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary safety measures.
5.Project Management
* Lead and manage projects related to the upgrade and optimization of mechanical systems
within the plant.
* Supervise and guide teams of technicians and junior engineers in project execution.
6.Documentation and Reporting
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system performance data, and
inventory levels.
* Prepare daily reports, Weekly reports , Monthly reports & technical reports and analyzes for
management review.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering having 10 Years of experience.
* Proven experience in the operation and maintenance of MTU gas engine power plants
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including engines, compressors, and pumps.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and leadership skills.
* Ability to work in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
* Willingness to work in shifts and be available for emergency callouts.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience with energy efficiency projects and sustainability practices.
