Job Title: Operations Manager - Smart Meters Assembly Business
Location: Dubai, UAE
Employment Type: Full-time
Experience: Minimum 5 years in Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, or Leadership roles
Education: B.Eng or BSc Eng & MBA
Compensation: 49 Lacs per annum
Leave Policy: 1-month leave per year with a sponsored air ticket from India to Uganda every two years

Primary Responsibilities :

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales and Business Development:

  • Identify and develop new sales opportunities for Smart Energy Meters (single-phase and three-phase) through market research, connections, and tenders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and key stakeholders in Asia and Africa.
  • Extensive experience in travelling across Asia and Africa, with a deep understanding of different types of energy meters.
  • Familiarity with tendering processes.
  • Oversee and track sales progress and manage a team of associates.

2. Hiring and Team Management:

  • Recruit skilled technicians, quality control staff, and assemblers for the assembly unit.
  • Establish organizational structure and manage staff incentives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams including sales, production, quality control, maintenance, and finance.
  • Promote a positive work environment and ensure a cohesive team dynamic.

3. Supply Chain and Inventory Management:

  • Manage relationships with suppliers for timely raw material supply.
  • Build partnerships both locally in the UAE and internationally for sourcing components.
  • Implement inventory control systems and plan raw material requirements effectively.
  • Proficient in using TALLY or SAP for inventory management.
  • Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and oversee procurement processes.

4. Production, Planning, and Execution:

  • Develop production schedules to meet customer demands and tender deadlines.
  • Monitor the production process and ensure high-quality standards by leading a quality control team.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

5. Financial Management:

  • Plan operational budgets and forecasts for presentation to senior management.
  • Analyze production costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implement cost-control measures and provide regular financial performance updates to management.

6. Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:

  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and industry standards.
  • Obtain necessary certifications from regulatory bodies.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities to stay updated on compliance requirements.
