Position Title: Site Engineer

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports Directly To: Site Manager

Key Results / Accountabilities / Performance Measures

The Site Engineer is a critical member of the site management team, responsible for ensuring the effective execution of construction projects. The role entails upholding security, health, safety, and quality standards while organizing and supervising materials and personnel on-site.

The Site Engineer ensures that project designs are applied correctly, work progresses as per approved schedules, and method statements are followed. The role requires collaboration with contractors, supervisors, and the client, while maintaining high standards in safety, quality, and project delivery.

Primary Responsibilities :

Job Summary (Key Responsibilities)

  1. Site Management & Supervision:

    • Manage the site daily, supervise and monitor site labor and subcontractors.
    • Ensure all materials used and work performed comply with project specifications.
    • Oversee the selection, requisition, and management of materials.
  2. Design & Execution:

    • Interpret and apply designs and drawings provided by the client.
    • Execute work as per approved designs, schedule, and method statements without compromising safety or quality.
  3. Coordination & Communication:

    • Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, and the workforce involved in the project.
    • Foster and maintain a professional relationship with client engineers.
  4. Planning & Organization:

    • Plan work and efficiently organize site facilities to meet agreed deadlines.
    • Prepare reports and ensure adherence to safety and quality control.
  5. Quality & Safety Compliance:

    • Oversee quality control and health and safety matters on-site.
    • Implement approved method statements, quality plans, and inspection/test plans.
    • Ensure observance of safety requirements at all times.
  6. Monitoring & Reporting:

    • Check materials and work in progress for compliance with specified requirements.
    • Provide data for variation orders and site instructions.
    • Prepare technical reports, record drawings, and maintain site diaries as required.
