Strong understanding and working knowledge of grain growing, mixed
farming systems and rural communities.
- At least 3-5 years experience working in the agriculture sector having developed a
sound understanding of extending agricultural information to the farming community.
- Proven communication skills with farmers, industry partners and project teams as
well as strong personal oral presentation and report writing capability.
- A network of media and communications professionals with whom you have worked
to deliver projects.
- A strong industry network of researchers and agribusiness professionals that you have
worked with and might use for future collaborations.
- A proven track record in maximising opportunities with social media, online and other
relevant technologies.
- Delivery of a range of agricultural events.
- Demonstrated experience in providing strong leadership and management.
- Experience in providing strategic leadership and influencing and leading change in
organisations.
- Demonstrated business acumen.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and an ability to influence others within the team
and organisation in a positive way.

Bachelor degree

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in extension services or related agricultural management roles.
    • Proven track record in managing projects, developing extension programs, and working with farmers and agricultural communities.

  • Skills:

    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in project management and reporting.
    • Ability to analyze agricultural trends and data to inform extension strategies.
    • Familiarity with digital tools and technologies relevant to agricultural extension services.

  • Knowledge:

    • In-depth understanding of agricultural practices, market dynamics, and extension methodologies.
    • Awareness of local agricultural policies and regulations.

  • Personal Attributes:

    • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing environments.
    • Passion for community engagement and development in the agricultural sector.

  • Languages: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
