Job description

Opening in Gulf Countries for the position of COMMI 1-having knowledge in ( Chinese, Indian, Continental, Asian, Butchery ) for star rated hotels and fine dine restaurants'.


Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Assisting in the food preparation process
  • Cooking and preparing elements of high quality dishes
  • Preparing vegetables, meats and fish
  • Assisting other Chefs
  • Helping with deliveries and restocking
  • Assisting with stock rotation
  • Cleaning stations
  • Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

 

  • Level 1 and 2 Food Safety Awards
  • Minimum 6 months relevant experience
  • Awareness of manual handling techniques
  • Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety
  • Experience of kitchen equipment
  • Experience of dangerous equipment such as knives
  • Competent level of English spoken and written

Bachelor degree

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Experience:

    • Proven experience as a cook in a household or similar setting.
    • Familiarity with a variety of cuisines and cooking techniques.
  • Skills:

    • Strong culinary skills with the ability to prepare meals from scratch.
    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
    • Ability to plan and prepare meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Education:

    • Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Organization:

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to manage kitchen inventory and maintain cleanliness.
  • Communication:

    • Good communication skills to understand and follow instructions from household members.
  • Adaptability:

    • Flexibility to adapt to changing meal plans and preferences.
    • Willingness to work varied hours, including weekends or holidays.
  • Teamwork:

    • Ability to work collaboratively with household staff, if applicable.
  • Language:

    • Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
